In the Celtic calendar 1st February is the first day of spring, Imbolc, the midway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. It is also the celebration day of St Bridget, an Irish saint, who was the bridge between the old ways and Christianity. When I went to meet my cousin in Dingle in 2014 we made St Bridget's Crosses out of reeds. In a sense it was the bridging of two families entwined. We chatted about our families the Catholic and the Anglican, we had differences but we bridged the gap in acceptance of those differences but met with love and formed friendship. Strong bonds bound us together in love. Spring of course is a new beginning and when we met in that first weekend of February those years ago we had no idea where that friendship would go. We are cousins, but became sisters too. It is good to belong to family no matter how far away, and hope of meeting up for the next exciting weekend is always held dear. Whether it is wishful thinking or not, I do sense a shift in the air and little reminders of new beginnings are emerging in the garden outside. Hope is a precious thing friends,
I have been drawn to a quiet time this week, it has been busy work wise and it is always good to notice that a little down time is required, especially as my screen zoom time zoomed a little too much with extra meetings and stuff. Quiet then is also a precious thing and I have managed to find some restful pieces that struck gentle chords within me. Find your prayer space, settle down, perhaps take your shoes and socks off (don't get cold) and touch base with the ground. Make yourself present with the Lord today and enjoy the company of silence and peace and your growing relationship with Him.

Captain Sir Tom Moore went home this week. Rest in peace dear sir, you have had a long walk, 100 years is quite an achievement. Now you are at rest in the arms of the Lord.
So let's be gentle at the moment and rest our thoughts with those we love, care about and miss.
