Finding feathers upon the way...

Don’t let yourself forget that God’s grace rewards not only those

who never slip, but also those who bend and fall. So sing! The

song of rejoicing softens hard hearts. It makes tears of godly sorrow

flow from them. Singing summons the Holy Spirit. Happy praises

offered in simplicity and love lead the faithful to complete harmony,

without discord. Don’t stop singing.

—Hildegard, Scivias

Like feathers drifting on the breeze things land in our path and we are blessed with yet another act of grace. Last night I received an email from my friend Frances. A couple of weeks ago we had been thinking about Hildegard of Bingen and upon contemplation it had started a seed of an idea. Here is that beautiful seed. Frances you have captured the movement of the feather on the breath of God, please accept my heartfelt thank you for sharing this image.

'Feather on the breath of God' by Frances Hawken after Hildegard of Bingen.

For more of Hildegard of Bingen this beautiful sound world really does feel like the touch of a feather on the soul...

However if you want something a little different then these, alternative beautiful songs are an added blessing...

what was played straight after, none other than 'Cornerstone'

I also had a little smile....on writing this yesterday I obviously couldn't see what today's meditation from Northumbrian Community would be...

Restoration Song

God called forth a people, and we responded to His call ‘Rebuild this ancient ruin, restore my city walls.’ He has led us day by day, as we listened to His voice and we were fed on finest wheat, and manna from the skies. When we started, we were strangers. We hardly knew each other’s names. Now we are brothers and sisters, and we will never be the same. As we built, brick by brick, we discovered the corner stone, and as we let Him mould and fashion us, He built us up in love. Now we have seen, and we have heard, that the Lord our God is great. For a wilderness has been transformed, into His holy place.

Thank you for the little mote at the end of the verse which reminded us about the wilderness...think cactus and dry spells and coming in out of the rain. Blessings indeed, you can't beat a God-incidence...

Go well my friends.
