Storm Otto is making its presence felt as far south as Rutland Water this morning, the hot tea post walk welcome, as climate change bites back...

The weekly stomp whilst Andrew ‘does’ Park Run is an early morning wake up call and a bracing nordic walk away from the runners as my brain uncovers from the previous nights slumbers. The weather did present an excuse for letting my brain remain under the covers but if I had I wouldn’t have checked into my prayer app Lectio 365 and I would have missed a gem of a session...
The succinct end of the meditation was based on Barnabas Columbus’ prayer thoughts…..
“…What are you, human life? You are the road to life, not life itself… You are to be traversed but not inhabited. For no one dwells on a road, but travels it So that those who walk upon the road May dwell in their homeland...”
then the prayers from Lectio 365:
“…Yielding Prayer
I set my feet on the pilgrim’s way for the coming day. Acknowledging its ordinariness, I choose to seek Your face in the people I meet. Accepting its pace, I choose to welcome frustrations as invitations to grace. And anticipating its temptations, I fix my eyes on You who beckons me home.
Yielding Promise
And now, as I prepare to take this time of prayer into the coming day, the Lord who loves me promises me His presence today, forever, and wherever I go, saying –
‘Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’ Matthew 28:20 (NIVUK)
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it we say - some days the words we hear are the ones the Holy Spirit nudges us towards. As we walk towards Lent it is worth remembering Jesus is our walking partner, our companion on the road I wonder where we will walk together this year?
