Luke 8:22-25 Jesus calms the storm is the Gospel reading for this Sunday and the theme for my sermon (will upload later).
We are in Bexhill-On-Sea at the moment and a wild sea is not uncommon. The wind is visceral and you can’t stand up. Seemingly gusts and squalls can rock us in life but it is in these moments of wild that we can experience the most powerful moments of the awesome creation that God has given us.
Amidst life’s storms can be moments of such stillness and peace that we are silenced once again and reassured by Jesus who is always with us. Quiet, be still are Jesus’s words to the storm. As we wonder at this let us try and be still and rest in the safe haven of Jesus‘s arms.
Take care friends, batten down the hatches and try and find some stillness as the wild weather takes hold. (We have finally persuaded Nana that hanging washing out is not the best idea…)!
